“The Eagle House occupies a prominent corner site in beautiful Burleigh Heads. The expressed structure of the house establishes a visual rhythm and sense of order.

This structure also creates zones of privacy and engagement and throws deep shadow to bring the house façade to life.

The house has a distinct horizontal form with a playful white fascia that curves and twists around to ensure it has a strong presence on both streets. This acts to tie various parts of the house together and reinforces the strong datum lines set up with the ground floor materials.” Says Architect and Interior designer Justin Humphrey

Interior Style by Kira & Kira Design

We have a brief chat with Interior Designer Lori Eaton about the Eagle project and the pieces you need to get the look.

Q: What was your design brief?

A: The incredible architect Justin Humphrey took the design of The Eagle to new heights. Not wanting to over power the striking architecture, our job was simply to select pieces that would compliment this urban style home, while keeping all the comforts of a coastal lifestyle.

Q: What mood did you want to create when choosing the pieces?

A: Keeping in line with the urban aesthetic, we definitely wanted to stick to the dark, moody feel the house already had. Naturally our selections were to help bring warmth and dimension to each space.

Q: Whats your favourite room in the this home and why?

A: I love the upstairs living room; it’s cosy and the homely feel is so inviting. From the eclectically styled book shelf, to the Baker sofa (colour: macadamia) and the gorgeous mid-mod feel the rug gives... oh and not to mention the spectacular mountain views!
